Program Best Practices
In an effort to add to the value of membership, increase the connection with the college, and target specific generations, the Vassar Club of New York instituted two new programs: The Rose Parlor Tea and a monthly cocktail party, Orations and Libations.
Rose Parlor Tea (in New York)
The Rose Parlor Tea is aimed at the classes of the 40's, 50's and 60's and are planned at the home of a local alumna. An opportunity for the alumnae to gather and chat, the Rose Parlor Teas have been very well received.

Orations and Libations
This monthly cocktail hour is held on the second Wednesday of each month (holidays permitting). A Vassar speaker is engaged to lead an informal discussion on a variety of topics.
Both of the events, Rose Parlor Tea and Orations & Libations are free for all VCNY members. As an incentive to non-members, admission to their first Rose Parlor Tea or Orations and Libations costs $25, which then covers membership to the VCNY for the rest of year!
Of course we realize that the proximity to campus helps make this program successful, but you are encouraged to think creatively, and we hope this sparks some ideas.
