Serge Levy '95
Two photographs of Serge Levy '95 are being displayed in a show at the Philadelpha Museum of Art. The exibition in the Director's Gallery will feature works by twenty-five artists affiliated with the museum as Fellows, fellowship alumnae, or Advisory Committee members. His photo, "Kyoto, Japan 2004", at right, is among the photos on display in the exhibition.
Claudia Thomas '71
Claudia Thomas '71 was presented with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons' 2008 Diversity Award. Dr. Thomas is the first African-American woman orthopaedic surgeon.
Thomas, an orthopaedic surgeon and assistant professor of orthopaedic surgery at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, is the first woman graduate of Yale University Orthopaedic Program.
Ruth Firestone Brin '41 has published her first novel, The Most Beautiful Monday in 1961, at age 86.
The work of Alec Spangler '02 is on display at White Box at the Annex in New York City.
Milbrey (Missie) Rennie Taylor '68 was recently elected to the board of the First National Bank of Long Island.
Wendy Kuhn '85 is the new program management leader at MCNC, the organization that operates the North Carolina Research and Education Network.
President Bush recently named Marc Thiessen ’89 to the position of chief White House speechwriter.
Diana L. Pearson '78 has been named as the vice president for communications at Dartmouth College.
Russ Opland ’91 was recently recognized by local and national leaders for his service as commander of the Delaware Wing of the Civil Air Patrol.
The Asian University for Women, to be opened in Bangladesh, has appointed Nancy Schrom Dye '69 as the first vice-chancellor and president of the university.

- Alumnae/i Directory: Use the Alumnae/i Directory to locate and contact classmates, immediately update your address, employment, and other information on file with Vassar and post a photo of yourself or your family.
- Permanent Email (Forwarding) Address: Set up your permanent email address to promote your Vassar affiliation (@alum.vassar.edu) and your emails will automatically be forwarded to the email account you specify, so that if you change jobs or email providers, all you have to change is your destination email address.
- Class eNotes: Post a class note online (with a photo!), announcing your new job, marriage, baby, book, etc., or just to let your classmates know what you are up to these days. Class eNotes will also appear in each class website.
- Career Mentoring and Networking (V-NET): Become a mentor to other alumnae/i and students seeking career advice or search for other mentors with whom you can network in your field or locale.
- Job and Résumé Posting and Searching: Search for jobs or résumés posted by other Vassar alumnae/i employers and/or other peer institutions, or post your company’s job opportunities or your own résumé.
- Business-to-Business Networking (Alumnae/i Yellow Pages): Find products and services advertised by fellow alumnae/i and members from other communities and use this tool to post your own listing to promote your products or services.
- Classifieds and Discussion Groups: Talk to fellow alumnae/i about topics of interest to you (hobbies, professions, etc.), search for apartments for rent or items for sale, or post your own classifieds to find a roommate or sell your belongings.
- Access to Class, Club/Regional Network, and Affiliate Group Websites: Visit your class website to find out what your fellow classmates are doing or to communicate with your class officers and explore the club/regional network, and/or affiliate group websites to locate groups in your area or with similar interests.

Travel Connections
In March 2007, 29 Vassar alumnae/i and friends, accompanied by Professor of Art Eve D'Ambra, traveled to Egypt to explore the pyramids and enjoy a four-night Nile River cruise. See the group photo above.
