Mini-Reunions
Mini-reunions are a great way to stay connected as a class between the college’s five-year reunions. They can be as simple as a luncheon in a classmate’s home or as big as a group meeting in London. AAVC is happy to help class volunteers plan mini-reunions. Please check with your class president for approval prior to starting your plans.
Contact Diane Hackenbrock at AAVC at 845.437.5466 or dihackenbroc@vassar.edu for planning guidance, or download our mini-reunion quickstart planning guide (requires Adobe's free Acrobat Reader).
1969 Celebrates 60th Birthday on Campus

Sixty-six alumnae from the class of 1969 returned to campus November 9-11, 2007 to celebrate their collective 60th birthday with musical performances, tours, faculty lectures, and a reception with President Catharine Bond Hill. Some quotes from attendees:
"The camaraderie and warmth we felt at our class 60th Birthday Party was very special. We were all friends and classmates again, with our wonderful Vassar memories. We were particularly pleased to celebrate our birthday when classes were in session so we could meet the new Vassar students and professors. We were not disappointed." — Laurie Padolf Mokriski '69
"What a weekend we had! Although we all love reunion, this is a chance for us to plan the programs, meals, etc. And it's all about us!!!" — Leah Johnson Wilcox '69

Need an Idea?
How about organizing a mini-reunion around a major music festival? The class of 1953 held a mini-reunion in Marlboro/Brattleboro, VT in 2006 in conjunction with the Marlboro Music Festival.
Or perhaps an art exhibit? On two separate occasions in New York City in 2005, over 40 members of the class of 1959 explored The Gates of Central Park exhibit together, while 20 members of the class of 1961 attended a retrospective at the Ameringer Yohe Gallery featuring the work of their classmate Nancy Graves '61.
Maybe your class would enjoy a themed, educational/cultural mini-reunion, such as the "Appalachia 101" event organized by the class of 1953 in the towns of Maysville, Kentucky and Manchester, Ohio in 2005.
