Discovering Eastern Europe:
Warsaw, Krakow, Budapest, Vienna & Prague

June 15 – July 1

Eastern EuropeDiscover a beautiful and poignant part of the world with Professors of Political Science Peter Stillman & Adelaide Villmoare. This tour offers ample opportunity for enrichment, enlightenment, and enjoyment.

Both leisurely and comprehensive, it provides a generous overview of five distinctly different and fascinating nations - Poland, Hungary, Austria, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Tour Warsaw's Old Town - a UNESCO World Heritage Site - and the Historical Museum, which recounts the city's destruction and subsequent reconstruction.

Spend a somber afternoon with visits to the haunting concentration camps of Auschwitz and Birkenau. Take a walking tour of Krakow, a major center of Polish culture and education. Explore Budapest, the "Paris of the East,"with a visit to Matthias Church and a stroll around Fisherman's Bastion for outstanding views.

Eastern EuropeStop in Szentendre, a small town packed with artisans' shops and a museum showcasing the work of acclaimed ceramicist Margit Kovacs. Continue on to Vienna and enjoy views of the scenic Danube Bend along the way. Enjoy an inside visit to the majestic Schonbrunn Palace and attend a classical music performance. Embark on a coach and walking tour of the historic Castle area in Bratislava, including a tour of the 18th-century classical-style Archbishops Palace, and experience Slovakia's hospitality as we dine with local families.
